Hyderabad, June 30th, 2019 : Round Table India, hosted its prestigious 2nd edition of the ‘Pride of Telangana’ Awards, for those unsung heroes who are instrumental in bringing about a silent revolution in the society. Shri Jayesh Ranjan, who was the Chief Guest, on the occasion presented the ‘Pride of Telangana’ awards and felicitating the winners at an awards ceremony, hosted by Round Table India, today at Novotel HICC, HITEC City.

 

The awards were presented in twelve categories and are,  Dr Reddy’s Foundation in NGO category; Suven Life Sciences in SME category; Smt Ratna Reddy of Chirec International School in the Education category; Mr Vijay Deverakonda, Film Artist category; Dr S Chandrashekar Rao in Medical category; Any Time Loan in Start-up category; Special Category – Women Ms Begum Anees Khan of NASR School; Shri NVS Reddy, IRAS, Managing Director, Hyderabad Metro Rail Ltd., in Administrative Services category; Ms Yamini Reddy in Art & Culture category; M/s Karachi Bakery in Food & Beverage; Mr Suheim Sheik in Sports category & M/s Neeru’s in Retail category. The emerging category awards were presented to Ms Anjum Babu Khan in Education category; Marut Drones in startup category; Bamboo House India in SME category; Ms Poorna Malavath in the sports category; Stellar in Retail category; Rayalaseema Ruchulu in Food & Beverages category; Ms Rubina Nafees Fatimain NGO category; Dr Mahesh Joshi in Medical category; Kanha Shanti Vanam in Inner wellness category; Actor Mr Priyadarshi Pulikonda, Film artist category; Miniature artist Mr Dheeraj Kolla in Art & culture category and Ms Sridevi Devireddy in Special Category – Woman.

 

The High powered jury for selecting the winners comprised of Mr Jayesh Ranjan, Principal Secretary, I & C and IT, Telangana; Prof. Shantha Sinha, Founder, MV Foundation; Dr GV Rao, Director, AIG Hospitals; Ms Pinky Reddy, Director, GVK Group; Ms Suchitra Ella, Director, Bharat BioTech International; Mr Yashwant Jhabakh, Founder & Chairman, Mahavir Group and Mr Ranadheer Kumar, CEO, Maximus Group.

 

Round Table India has always emphasised on the fact that education is a greatest enabler and helps individual to achieve their dreams. To fulfil this aspiration, Round Table India will contribute the entire proceeds from this event towards improving the infrastructure in the government schools and towards welfare of children from underprivileged sections.

 

About Round Table :

The Round Table is internationally, a friendship organization, founded in Norwich, England by Louis Marchesi, then a Rotarian in 1927. From a small group of 8 members, today it has grown to over 43,000 members across 52 countries representing every corner of the world. Round Table came to India in 1957 with the formation of Madras Round Table No 1 on November 14th1962, by John Barton. Over the past four decades it has grown to become a 4,000-member strong association.

 

Round Table India (RTI) has around over 324 Tables located over 105 cities and towns, comprising of businessmen, entrepreneurs, technocrats and professionals, men who can rise above personal concerns to seek and serve the larger needs of the community. Since 1997 RTI, under “Freedom through Education“, has built over 6189 class rooms in 2588 School projects at an outlay of over 244.65 crores, impacting the education of over 6.8 million children.

 

On the administration front, Round Table India has a very active National Board, which guides the affairs of the association. Round Table India is divided into 16 Areas, which have their own Area Board to administer them. The National Secretariat, the hub of all activities of Round Table India, is located in Chennai.  

 

Round Table India, is a zero overheads organization. Meaning, every rupee of funds raised goes towards our charitable goals. Our National goal is to ‘Build Schools for the Underprivileged’.The funds raised from this event will be used to build eleven classrooms, across three schools, at Shadnagar, Telangana.
